New Activity Requirements

There's no question that checking activity levels is a necessary evil of any game that doesn't want to end up at a stand still. We are fortunate to have so many talented writers, but all of us also live very busy lives and so it is sometimes necessary to do some planning to make sure that we are getting the most out of the game. There have been some changes to the Activity Check that will go into effect for the next check in February and will cover December and January. They are posted below. I have also altered the rules so that original characters are no longer appable into the game. Though, if you are interested in playing or having an npc that appears throughout the game, please let me know.
These changes are in no way directed at any players in particular. I want a game that works for people who tag at different paces, but I also have to acknowledge that our current minimum doesn't require enough activity to successfully move plots forward for characters. I feel that 10 comments and a starter post is a reasonable amount of activity for a two month period. If you find yourself at a loss for how your character can get involved in Alpha, please contact me. I am happy to help! The rules have also been altered so that you can use comments on your own starters or on others. This should allow for more flexibility in meeting the new requirements. Just note that you cannot use the same post for your comments and your starter post.
Our player base is great at tagging out, but I want to encourage you to keep tagging threads past a few comments so people can meet their minimums. Also, please feel free to use the Alpha settings, various npc groups and gamewide plots for your starters. There is very little you can't do here in Alpha and if you have any questions, I am always here to answer them. If your muse is not cooperating or RL is becoming too much to handle, please take advantage of putting your character on hiatus.
Those who are being warned for this activity period will only have to meet the activity requirements in effect during the Oct/Nov activity check before January 1st. One more thing, thank you all for making this game such a special sandbox for me and others. I cannot tell you how much of a pleasure it's been building this game with you over the last few months.
