There are some exciting things in the works behind the scenes here at Alpha, mostly thanks to the ideas and suggestions of you awesome players. I can't say enough how much I appreciate your input and excitement for the game. I am blown away by you guys on a daily basis.

But enough gushing! Below are some top levels to give you an opportunity to ask questions, give some feedback and basically spread the Alpha love.

Alpha OCs.
Ever wanted to create an Alpha native who didn't get the special treatment and had to work their way up from the INFRARED vats? This will soon be a possibility! What we need to know is what information you need from us and Alpha to help shape these OC backgrounds/histories. What do you need to know about their childhoods? About Alpha dating customs? About the fastest way to be promoted from the vats? Ask all your Alpha questions here.

Tropes, Plots & More.
Have an idea for a gamewide plot? Dream about making a trope come true for one of your characters? Have an awesome idea for a secret society coup? This is where you can make suggestions, or seek out collaborators to make your plot dreams come true.

Adoptable NPCs
The goal of Alpha NPCs isn't to steal the show, but to help further plots and pass down information to characters in game. They are to act as external forces to help characters and story-lines move forward. That said, there is enough going on in Alpha that they may need to be played every once in a while for entertainment or plot purposes. This is just a list of NPCs that have been mentioned in game and are available as you may need them. These NPCs are also available for any player who would like to temporarily adopt them to play them against other players. Just let me know if you need them/would like to use them.

I also love everyone in this bar. Most of all, I love the fact that though Alpha is an environment that should breed backstabbing and drama among characters, that the characters in game have organically come together and work together to protect and look out for each other.

I love that Lydia took something terrible that happened to her and had it make her stronger. I love that Root turned a robo-pet into a security/warning system/spy. I love that Steve - the most unlikely spy - has risen in the ranks of Alpha by just doing what he thinks is right and wrong. I love that Dick bucked the system entirely and went off the grid. I love Morgana's willingness to learn what she needs to in order to survive a technological future. I love watching canon mates come together while also seeing how unlikely pairings on missions go and the consequences they have later. I love reading how each new character approaches Alpha differently and how they do their own thing, while also being part of the whole.

Basically, I love everything and every one of you. It's so amazing to write with people who actually develop their characters and look forward to putting them in difficult, embarrassing or dangerous situations. And even more amazing to write with players who develop plots organically, are so welcoming and supportive and incredibly talented. No matter how many times I've written a certain situation - from arriving to a new world to meeting someone new - you guys always make my threads feel fresh, new and exciting and I love that. And I think I've written love one too many times, so I'm going to stop gushing. But thank you guys for making Alpha such a special game for myself and for others.

my favorite part of this game, hands down, is that i can read and enjoy everyone's threads with ease

if you've written a tag here, i've read it (ok well i'm behind atm but i'm catching up!!!) and i love you

additionally the fact that everyone has sort of wordlessly signed this agreement that anything goes and dives right into the fun is something i think is rare for games and i cherish it so much!!!! i rave about the openness and drive of the players here whenever i get the chance so it's cheesy but literally everyone contributes to this game and i love it because that really is sadly SO RARE

Thirding that I love everybody at this bar.

So, okay. My fave things? I love the fact that there's always something going on. I love the way that everyone just runs with what they're given. Case in point: Lydia and Barry getting sent on a mission together on her first day and instead of us just finishing the mission easy peasy, we ran with it and they ended up getting carjacked and having to walk back to AC, which is how they became such good friends.

I love that everyone is so nice and welcoming and that everybody seems pretty stoked to play with everybody. Seconding Rin in that I also read a lot of the logs other people are doing because they're so much fun. I really love that all the logs just sort of started happening in the Daycycle Change posts and just never stopped because that means they're all way easier to find and creep on.

I love that Rin's portrayal of Ray made me like him so much that I started watching Legends of Tomorrow and eventually even caved and watched some Arrow because I loved him so much that I wanted to play him. I love that Shini's portrayal of Dick made me watch the first cartoon series I've bothered to even think about watching in like twenty years. I love that Steve and Felicity's stuff always makes me smile or laugh even when they're not posting to my characters. I love that Kristi's Matt Murdock made me watch Daredevil even though I'd been steadfastly ignoring any and all Netflix-MCU (and still largely am, with that exception...and yeah I will finish it, dammit, I will).

I love that all the OG players loved this game so much that we got Sam to reopen it and it's doing even better this time around.

Just...fuck. Everything. I love everything and all of you.

I suck at naming everyone and why I love them, so instead, I'm just going to say a lot of vague gushy things. Reasons I love Alpha:

1. We have an amazing mod who lets just actually do what our characters would do IC, and rewards and punishes them accordingly — while always making sure that it's not only fun, but pushing our characters and the plot forward.

2. As multiple people have said, players who are willing to jump into anything, play anything, do anything. This is so amazing and fantastic that I really can't express how much I love all of you.

3. All of you make the world seem so real, by adding your own details of what little parts of Alpha are like in our threads.

4. All of you are up for meeting my characters, no matter who I throw towards you, and the ridiculous threads that have come out of it without any planning are just unbelievably fantastic.

5. All of you are so supportive as a community. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
