Honestly, she doesn't blame him. They should, at least, share the blame. Mostly, he knocked the wind out of her, which can feel like dying. Now that she's able to breathe again, she's feeling better.

That's why she tacked that bit on as quickly as she could. He manages to get her to crack a brief, tense smile with his comment.

She nods a little, trying to pick up her pace and run along beside him. "Thank you," she says while they're running. "For not leaving me there." Because there's plenty of people who would have, at least, left her there and, at worst, turned her in. She has no idea where they're going, but that action alone has earned her trust.

Maybe she trusts too easy or maybe it's just obvious that he's a kind, genuine person. Either way, she's gotten lucky running into him.
