July/August Test Drive Meme

Alpha Complex Test Drive Meme
Alpha Complex opened Sunday, July 31st. Please feel free to take a Test Drive to see if the environment would suit your character! All potential players are welcome.
It may be your first day in Alpha Complex or your hundredth, either way, you are in serious trouble.
In a bid to win sympathy and new recruits, the Frankenstein Destroyers - a secret society within Alpha who sees all bots as enemies, has uploaded a virus that is affecting all bots within the complex.
For the next twenty four hours, every bot you see will be the enemy. Your assigned Personal Digital Companion(PDC), a personal communication device, has turned on you and is intentionally misfiring your texts, phone calls and videos. The Bouncy Bubble Beverage machine in the cafeteria is shooting out bottles at passers by at high speeds. The high tech vacuum cleaner used to vacuum your clearance level's common room is attempting to suck up everything in sight. Elevators are trying to coerce people to climb out, so they can behead them. That adorable Petbot you purchased last week is trying to tear your throat out. That Guardbot from the Armed Services Sector is attempting to take out citizens, one by one. Autocars are driving themselves, right onto sidewalks and through windows...
Will you fight for your right to exist or hole up somewhere safe until the chaos passes?
Do not fear, citizen! The Computer and it's high advisors are working to restore order.
In the meantime, be safe and beware of bots and traitors!
Mingle Together. Explore Together. Adventure Together.

Until, you know, he couldn't anymore. The security bots were the worst ones. Cisco was on his way to his room from his troubleshooting station when he stumbled across her, crouched down in front of the pathetic remains of one of the security bots and...was that— was she...
"Ohhh," he moaned out, crouching to join her. "I've been dying to see the inside of one of these bad boys since I got here! Did you do this? High five!" he offered excitably, holding up a hand in the air. Don't leave him hanging, Holtzmann, that would be embarrassing.

Holtzmann straightened up so quickly she almost bounced, lifting her hand to give the requested five. She realised just in time that she was still holding the metal pipe and made a little 'oops' face, spinning it behind her back like it was a proton wand and shoving it into her back pocket for safekeeping (where it leaned dangerously given the pocket was not deep enough to properly hold a three foot piece of pipe). Once it was successfully secured away, she slapped Cisco's hand with probably more force than was really necessary, beaming.
"Yea I did this! Step right up and take a look inside the treasure chest with me why don't you?" she stepped back a little to allow him a good view of her fallen foe as well, dropping back down onto her haunches to inspect it once again.

"Bad ass," he replied approvingly. "I wonder if somebody could cannibalize bro-bot's AI to soup up some existing tech..." he muttered, mostly to himself, but still loud enough to be overheard. "I'm Cisco. Cisco Ramon," he introduced with a smile, looking over at her for a moment before giving his focus back to the mess of metal on the floor. "Man, I wish I had my lab back home right about now...the things I could do with this tech..."
no subject
"Oooh, you and me both," Holtzmann agreed longingly "You'd love to be part of my proton packs, wouldn't you?" she added, speaking directly to the bot's innards now, running an affectionate hand across the circuitry.
"Dr Jillian Holtzmann," she introduces herself with a brief flash of a smile before turning her attention back to the downed bot "Call me Holtzmann, or Holtz if you like." she reaches into the bot to start tugging out parts, apparently without much regard for what she was doing, but if Cisco was watching closely he'd notice she knew just wear to yank or tear or break to take out full components without really damaging the important bits.

But he's distracted at her response. "Proton pack?" he asks, intrigued. "I'm listening...you got my attention for real, now." Because that sounds interesting.
Cisco nods, eyes moving back to the machine as she expertly plucks out parts. He'll pillage from the next one; she earned this one. "Holtz, got it. Mechanical engineer?" he guesses. The way she knows just what to take and what to work around suggests she, like Cisco, knows because it's her job to know.
no subject
"Proton pack, yes," Holtzmann nodded, glancing up at him with a grin "Just a happy little gadget I cooked up, helps us catch ghosts," she was still grinning, but her tone was matter-of-fact, it was clear she wasn't joking. "I'll go over it sometime if you like, it's some pretty exciting stuff." And she enjoyed nothing more than explaining all her wonderful toys.
"And theoretical physicist," she added, nodding in confirmation as to his first guess "Also, ghostbuster." she continued after a moment's pause, it was what everybody knew her for these days, she may as well own the title - even if it didn't quite have any relevance here. "How about you, enquiring minds want to know?"
no subject
He looks impressed at the clarification he gets. "Mechanical engineer; focused in advanced weapons design and development," he answers with a shrug, "and Team Flash," he adds for good measure.
no subject
"You stop it," she grins back, tossing something at him that, on closer inspection, would turn out to be the broken half of a circuitboard from the robot's body. Her tearing of the remaining pieces might be carefully and precisely done, but the same could not have been said of her initial strikes with the pipe, and there are a few minor components that are slightly damaged beyond repair.
"Excellent," she crows, delighted, at both the idea that he wanted to hear about her tech and the 'advanced weapons' part of his little introduction, she was a girl who enjoyed a good weapon after all "Flash, ah-ah, saviour of the universe?" she questions with a curious tilt of her head.
no subject
His eyebrows lift a little. If Holtz is from his Earth, then he feels like she'd already have been working at S.T.A.R. Labs with a mind and a drive like that. At least, from what he can tell so far. So he's a little surprised when she mentions Flash, like she knows of him. "The Flash? Yeah, pretty much. He's a good friend of mine." His best friend, really, besides Caitlin.
no subject
"Really?" She asks, intrigued, because the world she is from is definitely not one where the Flash is a real person. That said, she doesn't dismiss the possibility immediately, after all the ghosts lived in a different dimension (the word might not be appropriate, but it was the best she had currently), she was currently in an entirely different place to one she knew, and he was from a different one still, perhaps there was something to the multiverse theory after all.
"So," she said decisively, assorted purloined technology successfully squirreled away in her pockets, and straightened up, swinging her pipe over her shoulder and grinning at him "You want to go bust some robots?"
no subject
Especially when the subject is that.
"Oh, hell yeah!" Cisco says with a great big grin, pushing himself back to his feet. "So much yes. Just...so much."
no subject
That was the kind of enthusiasm she liked to see. It made her feel just the tiniest twinge of home sickness, remembering how much fun it was when the girls were raring to go and working together to kick some ghost butt. She shook it off, grinning at him.
"Well okay then, how about you grab yourself a weapon and we'll get this party started?" she indicated the pile of disassembled robot parts on the floor, she wasn't sure exactly which bit could be used as a weapon (though give her five minutes, she'd figure it out) but she was willing to wait for him to find something appropriate.
((You wanna wrap this up around here now that we've got the actual game to play in? XD))
