Derek sympathized with her, there was no doubt there. If he was in her position right now instead, he'd probably be fighting back the only way he knew how: brute force. Even then, it'd be weak at best because he wasn't a werewolf here. He wanted that part of himself back more than he could stand to think about, but there was no end to this human side in sight.
